Mick Fleetwood
Michael John Kells Fleetwood, known as Mick Fleetwood (born 24 June 1947) is a British musician and actor, best known for his role as the drummer and co-founder of the rock band Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood, whose surname was merged with that of John McVie to form the name of the band, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. The band is best known for its 1977 megahits "Don't Stop," "Go Your Own Way" and "Dreams." Bill Clinton used "Don't Stop" as his campaign theme song and proclaimed Fleetwood Mac as his favorite band ever.
R.E. Metoyer Blues Rock and Soul Revue
R.E. Metoyer hails from Oakland Ca. a virtual breeding ground for down home blues, funky horn bands and an equally long history of rock heroes. R.E. (Ronald Eugene) and bassist Tim Hackbarth grew up in this fertile environment. Ronald was a member and songwriter for the East Bay group Rhythm Riot, releasing a self-titled LP on the San Francisco based Infrasonic Records. R.E. moved to Maui in '83 and soon afterwards was called upon to tour with platinum selling Canadian rock band, Kenny Shields & Streetheart. Upon his return to Maui he formed the band Beat Street and released "One Night Too Many" which featured current saxophonist John Zangrando. Tim Hackbarth arrived on Maui about the same time and has since been the go to guy for visiting blues men needing a solid bassist. Those include Charlie Musselwhite, Elvin Bishop, Norton Buffalo, Eric Burdon, and Lee Oskar as well as playing and recording with Mike Bloomfield alum Bob Jones. Ron and Tim have played together over the years, but it wasn't until R.E. assembled the Blues, Rock & Soul Revue for the Front Street Jazz & Blues Walk that he was able to bring together other renowned Maui artists. Hawaii born Jesse Smith has been with the band since 2011. Gene Argel joined the band in 2012. Gene's credits include gigs with George Benson, Branford Marsalis and on a recent Maui visit drummer Steve Gadd as well as playing the New Orleans Jazz Festival. 2013 brought the addition of the horn section with John Zangrando on sax and Fred Boyd, a newcomer to Maui, on trombone. Boasting a long list of credits between them, John with Bill Chaplain, John Mayall, Michael McDonald and George Benson to name a few. Fred worked with Stevie WonderThe Four Tops, Temptations, Lou Rawls and Tito Puente. This revue is a well seasoned, New Orleans gumbo of Blues, Rock & Soul.
