I was fortunate enough to hike in the woods at the beautiful Rock Dundar nature reserve near Elgin Ontario.

Near the trailhead, we had to stop and watch this amazing bird in action.

The force of its beak on the hard wood of the tree is like a sledgehammer, it is amazing that the beak or its skull does not shatter.
