The other day I was planning a project with a piece of Willow which I hoped was dry enough to finish in one turn. That turned out not to be a no-go but while I was at it I got to like this bowl more and more as the work progressed. The grain is really very pretty, like you often see in crotch pieces. However, this is a risky piece to take on; the probablity of it cracking is extremely high but still I would really like to give it a serious try. So I used this one to test a new method. The drying has to proceed as slowly as possible which is why I sealed the piece with candle wax. Time will tell if this method works. Please comment if you have experience in this area.
