From my recent trip to Germany I brought back some Oak from a dead tree which was still standing upright after storm Eunice. That is, it is no longer standing now because I took it down. From the wood I will make a few bowls for friends over there who have recently helped me getting things done like digging a cabletrench.
Even though the tree had been dead with no leaves at all for two or three years, the wood was still too wet to turn in one stage. I'm hoping the drying won't take too long so that I can still deliver the finished article this summer. This is the first one I did, maybe I will do another one in a live session.
