Here is a really nice project to use your small scraps of hardwood.
An eardrop like this is 10mm wide and just over 30mm long; that is really small. I'm using my collect chuck to hold the workpiece but any chuck with smaller jaws (pen jaws) will probably do the trick as well.
These are Meranti with gold colored beads; next is a set in Padauk with silver beads. All the hardware (ear hooks, connecting rings and beads) comes from China. Because I'm planning to do more in this area, I ordered a lot of this stuff at once. That speeds up delivery and I'm good to go for the next few years or maybe even longer.
