Not sure if the wood is really called Cedar. Around here the tree is rarely higher than 2-3 metres and very popular for fencing off properties. Looking at the diameter, this one must have been a bit higher than that.
This was a first time for me to turn this kind of wood. It is pretty soft and lightweight but it cuts well with not too much tear-out.
This blank contained a bark inclusion that for me is the eye-catcher of the piece. Will cut the other half of this chunk some other time. Finished with Danish Oil and then Shellac-based Sanding Sealer. From itself, the wood is rather plain, the Danish Oil really gave it some badly needed color.
