The act of photography has been a deeply personal activity in recent times and it's been great for me on so many levels. I didn't take the decision to share my passion on YouTube lightly but I'm so pleased that I have as the response has been far beyond what I ever imagined. I started my current form of photography with many barriers to overcome but I tried to make the most of the situation by absorbing myself into rarely trodden areas of my local landscape, to escape, to rehabilitate, to create and to enjoy my time with Meg. I was naturally anxious about whether many other photographers would be interested in my work, my approach and my thought processes. To be here 12 months later with over 20K followers is a huge surprise and I'm eternally grateful for the support and for the continued kind comments and messages.

There's nothing epic about where I tend to shoot, so I like to think that my style is perfectly attainable and demonstrates that you don't need dramatic vistas, lakes, raging rivers and towering peaks to really enjoy photography and create personally satisfying work. It would be great to spread my wings further afield in 2018 but you can also expect plenty more local woodland work as that's where my heart lies and that's where I can tell my own story with my furry best friend leading the way.

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and all the very best for a creative and fulfilling New Year!
