Another thing that you don’t come across every day so it was nice to have the tools to make some!
The turning is not at all difficult but getting them lined up properly to drill is another matter! I show the making of one... but in reality I made 11! Out of which I was able to come up with 4 that worked... and matched ... more or less! The trial and error method works very well... but you wasted a lot of wood that way too! Well a lot as far as sticks 1 ½” long and a ¼ “thick are concerned!
Something else I ran into with this was places where the flooring that I was using had been nailed down... even a small nail hole is pretty significant when you are working with such small stock!
This was the first time I have tried a more or less live shoot! There were a couple of spots at the end where I felt that there was just too much time with nothing going on... so I sped them up a little.. but other than that... this is how long it takes... me...to get this done! A normal project just has too much going on for me to be able to do this all the time!
Well here’s hoping that your January is going well and with February just around the corner we’ll hope that is good too! February is always a good month anyway! A little short... but good!
