The intent was starting a fire using wood scrapings with a firesteel. Spark to flame the wood scrapings then build a sustainable fire for 15 minutes.
30 minutes was alotted to find and forage for tinder and wood. Since I was in my backyard I couldn't really adhere to this rule. So, technically I didn't meet the challenge, but I think the video is still worthwhile.
Other natural tinders were mentioned as other alternatives.
Also, I was purposely using a less than ideal firesteel to show it could be done without too much difficulty.
