JSConf | Women Who Code by Francisca Schlesinger |Community Lounge | JSConf EU 2019 @jsconf_ | Uploaded 4 years ago | Updated 22 hours ago
Francisca came to Berlin in autumn 2014 to start a PhD in biology about bees. Three months later, she decided academia was not the right place for her, and she found herself looking for a change, and got her first developer job. But then something strange happened: suddenly she was introduced as "the female developer." She found herself often to be the only one, until she found a meetup called Women Who Code. She gives a big thanks to the organizers of this amazing meetup for making it so welcoming and so technically challenging & interesting, and all without restricting themselves to a single language or tech stack!
