In this video, we are looking at a disturbing pattern in the modern church: people who use Christian language, pulpit platforms, prophecy, deliverance, emotionalism, charisma, and spiritual authority while leading people away from sound doctrine.
Jesus warned us that false teachers would not always look obvious. Matthew 7:15 says, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” That means they may look religious. They may use the name of Jesus. They may have worship music, church services, conferences, prophecies, testimonies, and big crowds. But the real question is not whether they look spiritual. The question is whether they are faithful to Scripture.
In this video, we are dealing with several examples: Laurona/Phelps, Latrice Ryan, Jamal Bryant, Kathryn Krick, and Brian Carn. These are not all the same people, and the issues may not all be the same, but the pattern is the same: when the pulpit becomes a place for manipulation, false prophecy, bad doctrine, emotional control, prosperity promises, celebrity preaching, and unbiblical spiritual theatrics, Christians need to stop clapping and start testing.
The Bible never commands us to be gullible. 1 John 4:1 says, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God.” That is not optional. That is a command. Every preacher, prophet, apostle, pastor, bishop, prophetess, conference speaker, and internet personality must be tested by the Word of God.
The problem today is that many Christians have been trained to confuse emotion with anointing. If someone can make people shout, cry, fall out, run, or scream, people assume God is moving. But emotional reaction is not the same thing as biblical truth. A crowd can be excited and still be deceived. A preacher can be gifted and still be dangerous. A person can say “Jesus” repeatedly and still preach another gospel.
Paul warned in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 that false apostles and deceitful workers can disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. He even says Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. That means deception often comes dressed in religious language. It can sound powerful. It can sound prophetic. It can sound deep. But if it contradicts Scripture, it is not from God.
Some of the biggest red flags we see in these circles are prosperity manipulation, false prophetic declarations, deliverance theatrics, obsession with titles, unbiblical authority structures, and sermons that are more about the preacher than Christ. People are told to sow seeds for breakthrough, trust “the prophet,” submit to the “covering,” honor the “man or woman of God,” and believe every supernatural claim without testing it.
