Wander Into Winslow written by "That 70's Guitar Guy," (Ray Tutaj Jr.)
WInslow has a magic to it, and when I see tourists caught up into the famous corner I thought there's a song here.
The Eagle's song, Take it Easy, mentions Winslow, "Standing on the corner in Winslow, AZ..." and that brings the tourist to that corner. SO when I began writing this tune in 2020 I figured just having one line of the song mention Winslow was not gonna work. So I wrote the whole song about Winslow, and after living here for four years (2019- moved here) I accumulated enough photographs and experiences. I witness the magic bigtime when I play my guitar at the famous intersection across from the statues and flatbed Ford. I play as the, "That 70's Guitar Guy," and tourists love when I play the hits of the 1970's. The power of music has the ability to heal and relax folks and I guess that's what I do and for free. Anyway, listen to my song with headphones and enjoy it. My brother Kevin laid down a nice drum track and I appreciate that. We were in a band together in the early 1990's in Las Vegas and he is still just as passionate about his drums as I am the guitar. Thank you for listening!

I like to go over to the Union Depot Railroad museum where I help out these days, but once was the depot master and so was my dad. Anyway, on some days I will go in the back room I call the sunroom the one with all the windows, and i play my guitar and get plenty of sunshine when it shines. Its a good escape for me and helps me deal with the new dilemma I am in (March 2023). I so desparately wanted to get a house and get my own space as opposed to living with other people in the apartment building. I did this temporarily but willhave to stay a little longer because my hands are sort of tied. My past credit score was sooo good and I didnt owe anybody anythng and had no credit cards and figured it would be easy to get a house. Wrong. Banks said no. Gotta build up credit, buy stuff, get a loan, us a credit card etc. Really? To me it is insane. I could go on but I digress abit.
So this roadblock is put me in a hell of a situation. I totally regret getting rid of my house back in 2018. I would have had 20yrs paid (entrance door slams twice from ...three times from other tenants) [ya see why I need to move on? Icant live like this. Other people drive me nuts. The smoking, the noise, the crazy screaming, laughing, bang, bang, thud, thud and moaning and groaning from sex.] Help! Buy every product I have. lol. Ok, back to regretting getting rid of the ole house. ANd what about Winslow? It wasnt working. I fooled myself and thought it would be the place tosettle down. No. I met a handful of great people and weather was good mos of the time but way tooo lonely. I was dying. Now Im back HOME and I like it. Lots of friends, the Railroad Museum and much more to do. I miss Winslow and the fine friends but I gotta be where my roots are. Anyway. Help! Send Down All Your Angels, mom. Hear me. Make sure I dont make a mistake here and jump fo somethingtoo soon, like a house that willbe a money pit etc. Almost pursued one of those but a house inspection revealed the many problems.
So Iamstuck right now, I cant move andmaybe thisis where I am supposed to be for the time being. I know that being here for my mom during her final weeks was critical because I was basically the only one. Hearing a mother say, Wheres everybody at? was one of the saddest things I ever had to hear. I feel like my Ma gave me this song, or at least I was calling on her to make sure I dont make a mistake here cause Im really in a spot thats foriegn to me. (Living in an apartment) Ilovemy lanlord whose an ole friend from childhood (50 yrs)and hes good to me and I appreciate that. So maybe I have it better off than I think. Na, eventually I want a home. God I miss my house. No place like home.
At the end of this vid is a little ad for my book novel called, Twice Upon A Ghost Town. Its a historical fiction that I think everyone would like. Those who have read it tell my they found it fascinating. I appreciate that. Theres my little ad.I have somuch more out thereI hope ya all can explore.
Enjoy the song. I am singing it in the room at the depot where the song first came to me. I was inspired and was thinking about my ma who passed in December 2022. Ma toldme to finish this song. Ok, MaI did, Now what? Oh, and thanks for the help, ma, because its oh so clear I amto stay right here in Mendota for the time being.
