On a casual Wednesday afternoon everything fell in place, unplanned, and I decided it was a good time to capture Leo McCauley inside the cab of 4978. He calls the locomotive his girlfriend. He has spent countless hours with it, preparing it before its move to Mendota in 1997 and every year giving talks about it at our special events.
