Is there a planet out there, somewhere in the solar system that is intelligent enough to be absent of war and hatred? If so, that is where I want to be. It is absolutely reprehensible to me and contrary to every fiber of my being that men should desire so much power and control over others.
What is going on in Ukraine is insane to say the least. It is heavy on my heart and mind. This song came suddenly and was completed from start to finish in one week. It literally poured into me. My brother Kevin added a fantastic drum track. We may not be able to do much to help Ukranians individually here, but I hope this song helps to build up their spirits and to get the world to come to the full realization that the most evil man in the world should not be underestimated. "At all costs," I think the world should come together to do whatever it takes to rid this evil once and for all.
All human beings deserve life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. They deserve to be free to speak their mind and not be imprisoned by what they think.
I don't understand the act of war unless it is to crush the aggressor such as Hitler or Putin. Both found approval of their public to some degree but they were lied to, disillusioned and ignorant. Let's hope the common people of Russia are smarter. The end result of war does not justify the means. Decimating villages, towns, and cities and causing the displacement and death of multitudes just to reach the end result of controlling more land mass and peoples is pure evil. I would have hoped in this time we live in we would have learned from the past horrors of war. Can a man put himself in another man's shoes? What if Putin's home was bombed and children wounded or killed, tortured or raped? How would he feel? He is not intelligent enough to have empathy. He and Hitler are cut from the same mold and the world must take heed. The monster must be stopped at some point.

Mendota Illinois was close to having a fourth railroad, but financial problems arose with mishandling funds. The Railroad had already been graded from Ottaway to Mendota, Rail was purchased, rail cars were ordered and it almost seemed like a sure thig. The pathway it would take is carefully detailed in the Sun-Bulletin newspapers from 1911-1915. I have all the information at the Mendota Railroad Museum. It would depart Ottawa
and go up Terra Cotta Hill aim toward Prairie Center but just straight east of there about two miles at a Lutheran Church (not there anymore, but the cemetery is). After passing through Prairie Center, it went toward Triumph just northeast of the town and then straight to Mendota coming in south of the fairgrounds, coming on to 1st avenue, going up to 2nd street, all the way to 7th Avenue where it paralleled the Illinois Centrals mainline. A four-track yard was next to the street, and the Milwaukee Road RR was about 75 yards West of the Illinois Central The Electric Line would end up at 6th street. Just next to the CB&Q Railroad. All of this info is also on Microfilm at the Mendota IL library, from 1911-15 and found on the front pages.
Dont forget to visit the Mendota Railroad Museum on Saturday afternoons and the Faber Depot which once was the Milwaukee Road depot. Come with a sweet tooth and to talk some history and be in a very historic building. Its on East 7th Avenue.")
