In 11 years, all of the bigger snow events we have had melted off in a couple of days. 2024-2025 winter was a little different. It was the perfect snowpocalypse where we got a huge amount of snow, it warmed up just enough to turn powder into slush, then a cold front moved in with arctic air for over a week straight and froze everything in place. As soon as I saw the weather forecast, I ordered a kolpin switchblade snow plow for the polaris sportsman 570 atv (that I bought exclusively to maintain the driveway in spring-fall with the grader) and a motoalliance viper 4500 lb winch and the plow arrived about the time the powder turned to slush but the winch, well, it was 10 days late. I should have already had those but to me it was money I didn't really need to spend, I mean, when I worked exclusively from home I didn't really care if I was snowed in a day or 3. But now, new job, new responsibilities, and I need to make sure I can get out when it snows. A tractor and grader blade would probably be even better but ... I can't justify buying a tractor just to treat the driveway (but just in case, I already have a grader blade for a tractor I've had for several years in case I changed my mind)
