This is everything a violin concerto should be - a thrillingly emotional tug-of-war between soloist and orchestra. Schuman's third revision (the one you're hearing now) was completed in 1959. For me, the work shows a great deal of ingenuity and striving for perfection.
The first movement is divided into the following sections: Allegro risoluto - Molto tranquillo - Tempo 1 - Cadenza - Agitato, fervente
