The other telescope was sent back due to quality concerns, but this morning we have the William Optics GT71 APO Triplet Refractor Telescope, F/5.9, 420mm, (2.8”), with the flattener/reducer on (F/4.7 at 336mm)
I’m not very proficient with editing photos so please don’t judge too harshly. Without having an equatorial mount that’s polar aligned for long exposures, it’s difficult to get decent shots of nebulas, etc. Anyway, we do the best we can with what we have at this skill level.
Orion Nebula, Sirius, the 87% Moon and even Venus feature in this, along with the clips taken last evening of Jupiter, Saturn & Mars (no zooming).
The satellites which zipped by at 1:40 were the Falcon 9 & Cusat 2. The screenshot video is from the SkySafari Pro program on my Mac which is at 1:53.
