France’s far-right leader Marine Le Pen says she will run for president in 2027 despite an appeals court upholding her conviction for embezzling EU funds.
While a Paris court cleared the way for her candidacy, it also ordered a year of house arrest with an electronic ankle monitor. The sentence is currently on hold after Le Pen announced she will fight the conviction at France’s highest court.
