If your shoulder hurts during your bench press, it's not because of your rotator cuff, it's because of your rib cage.

Spamming shoulder external rotation drills won't matter if you don't have the shoulder space required to actually externally rotate your shoulder which is needed for horizontal shoulder abduction.

Opening up the posterior rib cage will give your shoulder the space to externally rotate so that you can achieve shoulder abduction and your rotator cuff can work pain free.
