Challenging the status quo and tackling our biggest problems requires radical solutions. And to some, those radical solutions can be too much; too different, too scary, too extreme.
Sarah Tavernetti and Yamila De Leon, the founders of Las Vegas-based self-directed learning center Bloom Academy, have taken a radical approach to changing conventional, one-size-fits-all schools. With support from the VELA Education Fund, they’re creating an alternative that gives kids the agency to guide their own education, and realize their own potential.
When faced with challengers, these changemakers learned to embrace their critics. By acknowledging people's fears, and offering time, patience, love, and kindness, you can work with your critics and broaden the perspectives of all parties.
