Stop songwriting - start toplining! đ
While some people think that toplining (writing just the lyrics and the melodies, NOT the chords too) is cheating, the music industry has made this their standard.
Very few songwriters do everything from top to bottom.
Itâs how I wrote the songs on my album and a couple of those songs placed really high in national and international songwriting competitions!
Yes, I can write with piano or guitar - I play both those instruments and have written tons of songs on eitherâŚ
But I prefer writing to tracks. Itâs so much more fun!
And like I said, you canât copyright chord progressions anyways, so stop obsessing over it!
