Hours of searching and still no sign of the amazing looking Phrixotrichus vulpinus, also known under the old name of Euathlus vulpinus or Chilean Ocelot Tarantula. This species is one of my most favorite tarantulas as it's just to remarkably looking. Searching for this big tarantula species from Chile is no easy task, therefore we have high hopes to find adult females and males of this species of Phrixotrichus.

Watch this short episode, the first out of two regarding the discovery and documentation of this P. vulpinus in the wild in the southern region of Chile and be with us when we see the first signs of this species and it's remarkable urticating hair patch and hair style in general on the abdomen, quite freaky looking!
