There’s a reason why Re:Zero fans rarely talk about the infamous Lust IF. In this April Fools’ route, Subaru becomes the king of Lugunica and marries the royal candidates, along with Rem. From the controversial Petra scene to Subaru’s bizarre encounters with Crusch, Ram, Priscilla, Anastasia, Felt, Rem, and Emilia, the story quickly becomes one of the strangest and most out-of-character parts of Re:Zero.

The author eventually deleted Lust IF because it was originally written as an April Fools’ prank. Unlike the other Re:Zero IF stories, it doesn’t expand the world or explore an important alternate scenario, and many fans consider it more like bizarre fanfiction than a meaningful part of the series.
