Season 4 of Re:Zero is shaping up to be massive, covering one of the strongest arcs in the series and setting the anime up for huge success. But with that hype comes concern about Season 5, which would adapt Arcs 7 and 8, the controversial Vollachia saga. Some fans even claim these arcs could hurt the Re:Zero anime, and this video breaks down why that fear is completely overblown. While Arcs 7 and 8 are definitely a love-it-or-hate-it segment, they take bold risks by expanding the world, introducing a massive new cast, and shifting the story in fresh directions. Despite pacing issues in the novels, these are exactly the kinds of problems an anime adaptation can improve, and in many ways the Vollachia arc may actually work better in anime form. With heavier action, stronger fights than earlier seasons, and moments anime-only viewers will absolutely latch onto, this arc has serious potential. If White Fox gives it a large, uninterrupted season similar to the Tensura treatment, Re:Zero Season 5 could end up being far better received than many expect, especially considering the series’ massive commercial success under Kadokawa.
