In this week's video, I will be showing you exactly why low gain antennas are great for Helium hotspots. And where you may have problems with high gain antennas. If you have spent the money, to get a good miner you want to make sure, it is all setup correctly and you are getting the best returns on your investment. With a poor quality high gain antenna, or the wrong setup, your earnings will suffer. Simply because your hotspot signal is not reaching the users.
My Helium mining setup in Adelaide has a low gain HNTenna and it works really well, eventhough we are blocked by hills. Low gain does not mean the antenna is inferior. It means it has a stronger connection at a close range, e.g. about 10 kms. Some of our customers in the area are also reaching repeated witnesses as far as 70 kms.
IoT is a very narrow-band application, and because of that the sensitivity is fenomenal - you can get really low signal levels and still have a good connection.
