Over the last 7 years I have been fortunate to present guest lectures at Adelaide University to 2nd and 3rd year students (depending on the course lay-out). Because things are different this year (2020) the lecture was an online video, and I built the lecture using my usual Youtube format. For that reason I thought it's just as useful to just upload the lecture to the channel as well (considering it is work that we have actually done so may as well share it).
The focus of the lecture is to demonstrate where the theory taught in class actually makes sense...Antenna Gain, Bandwidth, Radiation Pattern and Return Loss are not just hypothetical principles. They make perfect sense and we do use it (a lot!).
In this lecture I covered 4G Antennas and 5G Antennas to name a few.
In the end, I also present a basic design example using CST Design Studio, to illustrate the power of designing with modern software.
