The new NightHawk M6 was released, currently two months ago, So April 2022. A month before that we learned abruptly that the NightHawk M5 is no longer available in Australia through Telstra and anywhere.
We just want to confirm that the NightHawk M6 will still work with your existing external antennas.
If you look at the data sheet, it's exactly the same box, it's exactly the same connectors, so if you currently have a XPOL-2 with a TS-9 connector they will work with the same antenna.
We are waiting for our little unit as well, test unit, so I'll definitely do some tests to make sure that we actually get our head around what's going on there.
To me, it was a bit of a question, why the sudden change from one to the other, but during this weird time of COVID, and transport, and economy going weird, and I don't know what's going on.
What I can tell you is I don't think it is worth, if you have an NightHawk M5, to make any effort to go for the M6. I don't think it's worth it. I think it might be the same unit just with a different chip set, but don't quote me on that yet.
We're going to get our own unit. We're going to compare spec sheets between the previous model and the current model. And then we'll get back to you, but for now really the most important and simple thing to remember, same antenna, same connectors. Everything is exactly the same. Supports 5G in Australia, 4G as well, 3G as well in those three. So that's it for M6 for now. We'll see what comes up later.
