So fewer genres are tricker to sell books in than Christian Fantasy. Let's take a look at why some people write it anyway.

02:04 A very brief history of Christian Fantasy
02:54 Tolkien's abstraction of Christian Themes
03:31 The Biblical precedent for fiction as a teaching tool
04:07 Who are these books actually for?
05:44 Deja Vu vs. Jamais Vu
06:21 The assortment of other Christian Fiction
07:09 What makes fantasy special?
07:30 Where should fiction authors draw the line?
08:39 Some pretty good CS Lewis quotes

If by chance you'd like to check out Ms. Fischer's article and anything I might have missed (or accidentally taken out of context. I can't blame you. I certainly wouldn't trust me)...

Also, for a seriously good read, check out the source of a lot of folks' bangin' Lewis quotes. I can't tell you how many articles get written every day by ghostwriters coasting on this one writer's excellent work:

By the end of this video, you may or may not have a new perspective on the Christian themes in the Lord of the Rings or the Chronicles of Narnia, but our glancing blow at the history of Christian fantasy may bolster your confidence toward Christian fantasy. Or send you running far from it, because the volume of Christian Fantasy criticism from Christians with no chill is possibly the most frustrating phenomenon I've seen in authordom (and *I* write stories about trans princesses).

Thanks for visiting the channel.
I am something of an antisocial eccentric, but I am actively trying to be more of a blessing than a curse to my fellow writers.
