Things I didn't mention in this clip:
-The control scheme being like this makes playing the game in portable mode a huge pain/impossible, which is at ends with the design of having Moons everywhere so you can pop the game on and get some nice rewards while on public transport or whatever
-Captures that briefly alter movement are the best imo - the forks in this level and the flicky things in Metro are good because they add to your movement for traversing the level
I also really don't like the level design because pretty much no major objective forces you to actually learn anything about the levels, which defeats the point of the levels being open. For example, in Metro, three of the four musicians are out of the open, with only one of them requiring you to do anything creative to reach them - if they'd all been placed in locations that required some ingenuity to reach, every challenge could then be instructed with the knowledge that the player knows the layout of the level... but instead all of the new Moons are time-wasting ones like the giant MARIO letters.
I talk about this on stream at another point, but the game punishes you for exploring a level before completing it, and it doesn't give you any other rewards to make up for your time lost - in Sand Kingdom, if you go on top of the Bullet Bill house, there is absolutely nothing there except a frozen block. There is no difference between accessing that before or after thawing the ice, except one gives you the Moon. It's a big waste of time!!
