Christopher Satoor (@TheYoungIdealist) is a doctoral candidate (ABD) in the Department of Humanities at York University. His research focuses on the Classical German philosophy of the 18th and 19th centuries and the German idealist philosophies of Kant and Fichte, with an extra special concentration on the work of Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling. He is also the creator of the #TheYoungIdealist series on Classical German Philosophy on YouTube. In this episode, we discuss all things Kantian philosophy and German Idealism.

Thank you.$ $There Should Not Be Interpretations of Quantum Mechanics The two pillars on which modern physics rests are the General Theory of Relativity and quantum theory, but the status of these two theoretical systems is completely different. There are no great debates among General Relativists about how to understand it. The more one works with it, the clearer it becomes. In contrast, no consensus at all exists among physicists about how to understand quantum theory. There just is no precise, exact physical theory called quantum theory, Prof Tim Maudlin writes in his book Philosophy of Physics: Quantum Theory. Therefore, he claims there should not be interpretations of quantum mechanics, as we dont even have a physical ontology to interpret in the first place. His work brings the history and philosophy of science into dialogue with other fields, especially continental and Classical German philosophy. He has used the philosophy of embodied cognitive science to develop new readings of Jakob von Uexküll and Max Stirner and to ask questions about the relationships between art, science, technology, and society. Dr Feiten is currently an Assistant Teaching Professor at Penn State University and did his PhD at the University of Cincinnati. In this episode, we discuss how subjective experience remains a deep philosophical and scientific problem, how continental philosophy can be used in AI and cognitive science research and how science is essentially dialectical.
