What if everything was recorded directly on a real Commodore 64?
In this video, I reimagined music from Metroid using the original SID 8580 chip – tracked and crafted on real hardware, not emulation.
The SID doesn’t just play music… it shapes it.
With its distinctive filters, punchy bass, and raw character, it transforms familiar melodies into something entirely new.

This is my take on the legendary Ghostbusters Theme, recreated in pure 8-bit on the Commodore 64 SID chip.
No samples, no modern tricks – just three voices, clever programming, and a lot of love for that iconic 80s sound.
The goal was to push the SID to its limits and capture the energy, groove, and instantly recognizable vibe of the original – all within the classic C64 sound palette.
