Some stories begin with a grand discovery.
Mine began with a dusty plastic bag.
About nine years ago, we moved into our house. Like most people do, we carried countless boxes, bags, and forgotten belongings from one place to another. One small storage room became the final destination for all the things we didn't immediately need. The door closed... and for nearly a decade, it stayed that way.
Just a few meters from where I spent countless hours making music, there was a bag filled with old children's toys. Hidden inside was something I didn't even know we owned.
A recorder.
Not a cheap toy, but a beautiful Moeck instrument.
For nine years, it sat there unnoticed, waiting.
Recently, while cleaning and sorting through old things, I finally opened that forgotten storage room. As I looked through the bag, I pulled out the recorder and was immediately curious. I cleaned it, played a few notes... and something unexpected happened.
I fell in love with its sound.
The funny part is that I've never actually learned to play the recorder. But over the years I've occasionally practiced on a tin whistle, and thankfully the fingerings transfer surprisingly well. Within minutes, melodies started to emerge and since 2 weeks I jam with that thing every day.
It's strange to think that this instrument was sitting only about three meters away from me for almost a decade. While I was composing music, recording SID tunes, and exploring countless sounds, this recorder patiently waited in a forgotten corner of the house.
Sometimes the best instruments aren't bought.
Sometimes they've been waiting for you all along.
And what's next, a violin or a cello, or even a grand piano I didn't know about? 😂

![The REAL Ghostbusters – The Best 8-Bit Version You’ll Hear (C64 SID) 👻 [REMASTER]
Who you gonna call? SIDbusters! 👻
This is my take on the legendary Ghostbusters Theme, recreated in pure 8-bit on the Commodore 64 SID chip.
No samples, no modern tricks – just three voices, clever programming, and a lot of love for that iconic 80s sound.
The goal was to push the SID to its limits and capture the energy, groove, and instantly recognizable vibe of the original – all within the classic C64 sound palette.
If you love retro games, chiptune music, or 80s nostalgia, you’re in the right place.
🔊 Best enjoyed with headphones or proper speakers
👻 100% handmade SID 8580 sound
🎮 Old-school hardware magic
