let's talk about the Disney princess problem ✨
hello my cozy kings and queens, today I felt like unpacking all of the misogynistic messaging behind the Disney princesses we all loved and adored growing up!
Just to make note of this outside the video... I love Disney movies. I don't want to paint the entire epic era of 90's Disney content in a harmful light... but I also have witnessed a lot of my own programmed gender role bullshit that upon further examination, realized was downloaded through most of the messaging we received as kids.
"Men are to be stoic, strong and emotionless - they are meant to fix things, save you and change your life and give it meaning. Women are to be soft, angelic, flawless creatures that clean and cry and are meant to change men and give them a prize to protect."
