How did The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Metroid: Samus Returns never get Switch ports?
Both games were critically acclaimed, both released late in the 3DS lifecycle, and both would have been perfect fits for the Nintendo Switch audience.
A Link Between Worlds is often considered one of the best Zelda games ever made, blending classic top-down gameplay with modern design. Meanwhile, Metroid: Samus Returns helped revive the Metroid franchise and laid the groundwork for Metroid Dread.
Nintendo has ported dozens of Wii U games to Switch, many of which went on to find massive new audiences. That’s why it’s so surprising that these two fan-favorite 3DS titles were left behind.
