Dr. Brovkin is a Russian born American historian, now retired, used to serve as an Associate Professor of Soviet History at Harvard University in the 1990s. He testified before the US House Committee on banking in 1999 in connection of the Russian money laundering. He is the author of many books and articles on Russian history and politics, the latest being: From Vladimir Lenin to Vladimir Putin. Russia in Search of its Identity (London Routledge 2024) , as well as Russia After Lenin: Politics, Culture, Society, (Routledge 1998) and Behind the Front Lines of the Civil War.
