WFP is working with the Government of Burundi to help building more robust food systems and resilient communities by working with farmers to increase the quantity and quality of their production and therefore increasing smallholder farmers’ livelihoods; by purchasing food locally from smallholder farmers and creating market opportunities with the Home-Grown school feeding and program; by enhancing the production of special nutritious flour and milk across the country.
