In July 2024, WFP and Sustainable Energy for All (SE4ALL) partnered with #Tanzania’s National Carbon Monitoring Centre to support the transition of 50 public primary schools from firewood to electric cooking, pioneering institutional electric cooking and exploring ways to fund the project using carbon credits.

WFP has piloted modern cooking in schools and households using electric pressure cookers, gas stoves and mini-gasifiers in several countries, including Lesotho, Mauritania, Chad, and Sri Lanka.
