It is a freezing 11-degree morning here in the north, but that isn't stopping us from having a busy day with the dogs! In today's vlog, we are testing out some new freeze dried snacks for Memphis, Kira, and Eleanor. We successfully freeze dried some carrots and celery, and while the girls seemed to enjoy the crunchy carrots, the celery was definitely a unique experience! I even have an idea to coat them in peanut butter powder next time to make a delicious homemade dog treat that even picky eaters might love.
While the freeze dryer is running, I am also spending some quality time dog sitting for my brother! I got to watch Stewart for the day and we headed out into the snow for some serious games of fetch. There is nothing like a Siberian Husky or a snow-loving dog chasing tennis balls in the deep powder. Stewart had a blast, even if he did lose a few balls in the snow holes along the way!
Back at the house, we are prepping our next batch of bone broth cubes. We got a great deal on free bones and are turning them into easy-to-handle frozen shapes for the dogs. It's much easier than working with one giant sheet! Between the dog sitting, the freeze drying, and Jamie heading out on a sudden snowmobiling trip, it’s a full house. Remember: Life is short, make memories with your dogs!
