Kang and his variants were introduced as threats in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, setting up Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, a report suggests that Marvel altered its Phase 6 plans after seeing Jonathan Majors' performance as Kang in Loki and Quantumania. With Majors' future uncertain, the original Phase 6 plans may be enacted, potentially featuring Doctor Doom as the main antagonist in Avengers: Secret Wars. The presence of Kang's variants in the MCU raises questions about their role in the Secret Wars storyline. If Kang was not initially intended as the main antagonist, it is likely that Doctor Doom will assume that role. Avengers 5 and 6 may be more distinct compared to Infinity War and Endgame, with Kang's variants serving as the villains in The Kang Dynasty while Secret Wars focuses on a different threat.
