This February, RTÉ lyric fm presents Where Life Sounds Greener. As Spring unfolds from 1 February, across the week, we'll introduce you to passionate ecologists, environmentalists, filmmakers, poets and musicians, all delighted to share their nature projects with us.

As we all know the world is facing massive environmental challenges, and it can all be a bit overwhelming, but it's important to celebrate the amazing work being done by all kinds of pioneering people who have stepped up to the plate. People who work and campaign tirelessly to protect our seas, waterways, bogs and forests, and rich animal and insect life. Each values the power of music and the arts to motivate, energise, and inspire connection with the natural world at a time when we need it most.

Reformed landscape designer Mary Reynolds, Atlantic rain-forester Ray Ó'Foghlú, harpist and activist Yolanda Kondonassis, wildlife film-maker Ken O'Sullivan and more all choose music that has been significant and inspiring to them in their work. Each acknowledges that a simple song or tune can hold so much power when we need inspiration and motivation.
