Cal Folger Day shares the compositional process behind her verbatim opera The Woods and Grandma. She begins with a one hundred year old book of English folk songs collected by Cecil Sharp and the transcribed text of an RTÉ radio documentary 'Two Ladies of Galway' and weaves the two together to create a new work from these unlikely bedfellows. Expect stories of Lady Gregory, Yeats and George Bernard Shaw as told by the Gregory granddaughters Anne and Katherine and then refracted through a new musical setting. This programme has been nominated for the Prix Italia 2019.
