Two Star Wars videos in a row?! I must really be deep in the hole this time. Also, if this doesn’t prove that I will always find someway to add in the Ahsoka and Vader fight into a video, I don’t know what does.
I heard this audio on Insta and was like “hey this could be fun to edit” and I also felt a lot of lyrics matched Star Wars so here I am! Call this another one of my mini edits, a rather simple one as well might I add. This part of the song’s beats are mostly hit by vocal transitions and choir notes, so doing crazy editing transitions didn’t really fit the vibe of the video. Honestly doing something nice and simple and short was really fun! I love getting to experiment with editing this way! And it was fun using twixtor again, haven’t touched that effect in a while.
My goal for this video was to touch many facets of Star Wars, not just the ones I usually edit. The moment I decided to include live action in the second half, I felt I wanted to stick to only live action. Even if unironically using Rey WILL probably get this video blacklisted in certain Star Wars spaces but ya know what fuck you I still love her AND the sequel trilogy!!! Also YES I really love the “be with me” scene, I think it’s really cool and a great addition to Star Wars lore of the cosmic force literally speaking to Rey and enhancing her power. It really matched that “tidal wave” lyric, how one girl was able to harness the power of all the Jedi that came before her. I know Kylo would’ve fit the last “when does a man become a monster” part better, but I really liked the idea of having a little bit of everything in here, you know? Plus it felt nice to add in ROTJ since it IS my second favorite Star Wars movie. I still think it fits since it is Luke’s own calling to the dark side, however brief it may be. Which hey first time editing Empire Strikes Back! And twixtor really hated that choppy slow mo effect for that cave scene. Eh they can’t all be winners. Anyways! Enjoy! And WOOHOO FOR MANDO SEASON 3!!!!

It’s getting closer to Halloween which means it’s that time of year for Faben’s annual Halloween MEP! And yes like every year, I of course joined because I never wanna miss it!
They did something unique this year in which each part was assigned with a word and we had to base our stories around that word. My word was “trapped” and with that I decided to take inspiration from one of my favorite franchises (aka the two first movies were great and the rest were garbage), Alien! Many people know I’m a huge nerd when it comes to Sci-Fi, but I often find that practically no one in the editing community ever uses it for their videos. And I think that’s a shame because I think there’s a lot of creative stuff that can come from the sci-fi aesthetic! But hey, if no one else is gonna do it, then I will!
Now I don’t personally have claustrophobia, but when thinking about my word the worst place I thought I could ever be trapped in is space. Because your space ship is all you have for survival. Outside of that? Good fucking luck. Space is an empty vacuum of death, and that’s the feeling I wanted to invoke here. Yes, even tho Cale is trying to get away from something, he has no where to go. He’s stuck with this thing that’s trying to kill him. And that my friends...is true sci-fi horror. Enjoy!
