DAMN I am on a ROLL with these canon videos! And another full length video at that! Feel that? That’s the feeling of me not staying up multiple nights in a row working to death on a crossover edit. And it feels FANTASTIC. Creative juices be flowing baby woooo!
Feels like it’s been a while since I’ve edited with Star Wars. It hasn’t, I made a Kanan vid not too long ago. But it FEELS like it’s been forever, ya know? And I think that’s because this franchise hasn’t really been on my mind. Listen Star Wars will go on such long hiatuses while Marvel is pumping shit out every few weeks what do you want from me?!
Anyways since I still haven’t finished Bad Batch and I wasn’t that into Book of Boba Fett, there was no reason to pull me into a hole. But then THIS show came out and man oh man. Did this show remind me why I love Obi-Wan so much and even more why I came to adore his brotherly relationship with Anakin. But more than that, this show is the first and ONLY time I’ve actually felt for Obi-Wan’s perspective. Them having his journey of denial and horrible acceptance in the similar vein of what Ahsoka went through in Rebels was just…so perfect and poignant to me. As Lucas always said, it rhymes like poetry. And what a tragic rhyme it is, for both Ahsoka and Obi to look Anakin in the eye and only see Vader. Seriously I was going FERAL when the mask broke open I knew exactly what those bastards were doing.
I was already planning on doing a video with this show with a different song. But when listening to this song after watching episode 3, I immediately changed my mind. The lyrics matched up so well! It was nice getting to do an angsty Star Wars vid again, one that’s NOT just solely focused on Anakin and Ahsoka because I seriously need to branch out XD. I feel this was a good opening for that. I know I’ve said some not great things about the prequels in the past, but it was honestly a lot of fun using them! They have some good shots for editing. Not to mention paralleling all the fight scenes, while challenging, was super satisfying to edit! I’ve never done something like that before where it all tries to flow with each other, so I’m pretty proud of the result considering this is my first attempt. I do feel it’s kinda scandalous of me to NOT make a parallel edit with the scene from Rebels, normally I’d jump on that like no tomorrow. Buuuttt…I already started working on this video before the final episode came out, what can I say XD. Maybe one day I’ll make that video though! In any case, enjoy this for now!

It’s getting closer to Halloween which means it’s that time of year for Faben’s annual Halloween MEP! And yes like every year, I of course joined because I never wanna miss it!
They did something unique this year in which each part was assigned with a word and we had to base our stories around that word. My word was “trapped” and with that I decided to take inspiration from one of my favorite franchises (aka the two first movies were great and the rest were garbage), Alien! Many people know I’m a huge nerd when it comes to Sci-Fi, but I often find that practically no one in the editing community ever uses it for their videos. And I think that’s a shame because I think there’s a lot of creative stuff that can come from the sci-fi aesthetic! But hey, if no one else is gonna do it, then I will!
Now I don’t personally have claustrophobia, but when thinking about my word the worst place I thought I could ever be trapped in is space. Because your space ship is all you have for survival. Outside of that? Good fucking luck. Space is an empty vacuum of death, and that’s the feeling I wanted to invoke here. Yes, even tho Cale is trying to get away from something, he has no where to go. He’s stuck with this thing that’s trying to kill him. And that my friends...is true sci-fi horror. Enjoy!

First Halloween upload of the yeaaarrrrr! WOWEE so I actually hadn’t planned on it taking this long to upload something??? But I was working hard on my actual Halloween video and that took FOREVER. But no matter, I will not leave you guys nothing throughout the month. I still got two more special treats coming up before that video comes out.
So this is for Faben’s Halloween MEP! I’m making it my mission to enter every annual Halloween MEP of his. This year’s theme was just simple horror, so I had fun coming up with some fun ideas. It took me a while to settle on which story to do, but I finally went with this one! I looovvveeee a dark circus environment. I’ve been wanting to do a dark circus video for forever! To the point where my og 2017 halloween vid was gonna be a dark circus (ironically with Meg) before I dropped it completely. But now I’ve finally done it! And with a character I’ve never done before. Madeline kinda sucks to mask because of her stupid outlines, but she’s got a lot of fun expressions to work with (like wow her footage matched exactly with what I wanted). Anyways, enjoy!

A circus performer spends a night with her girlfriend after a performance, but later in the evening she discovers the dead body of her girlfriend in a backstage area, revealing that the person she was with all night was actually a ghost.")

When you actually don’t f—k around, and yet you still find out.
Another year, another Halloween MEP part for my bestie @FableSecrets! I won’t lie…this one isn’t one of my favorites. For starters I struggled IMMENSELY with the story. I have no idea, it just was not clicking for me. I kept going through various different ideas but some of them lacked an ending and others lacked a beginning. And then when I felt like I had this neat idea with the statue, I didn’t know who I wanted the statue to be. Ok that’s a lie, my brain kept telling me to use Kida but I’ve already used Kida for Faben’s MEPs TWICE now AND I WANTED TO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!! Because I struggled with the second faceclaim, I kept circling through different stories, and it really was looking like I was gonna do something completely different by the end. And then…I did my original story afterall, so XD. I am glad I did though, this one was the one that felt like it had the creepiest vibe going for it so that was beneficial in a lot of ways. And I’m glad to have had Aurora suggested to me by my friends, she ended up being pretty perfect for what I wanted and editing her didn’t take much effort whereas my other ideas would’ve required a lot more work lol. Don’t ask me what the story is, I have no clue at this point. This one I truly was just going for The Vibes. But I hope you enjoy anyways!
