I've been pondering this significant tripod and geared head upgrade for several months. They are very expensive, so it's not a decision I took lightly - I wanted to be sure that it was going to be a worthwhile investment that would genuinely make a positive difference to my photography. I took the plunge in November and I've not looked back. I've since had a few questions and curiosity around the new gear, so I thought it might be useful to share some quick thoughts on why I upgraded and how it's already enhanced my practice. It's unfortunate that this photography gear is so expensive but if it helps to expand your view in the field, assist your workflow and resolves some frustrations then hopefully it will be worth every penny. Personally, this setup will have a greater impact on my work than a relatively insignificant camera upgrade. It goes without saying that you don't need any of these things, it's about enjoyment and making wise investments that suit your own needs and vision.
