SOMETIMES IN TRAFFIC THERE'S A TIME WHEN NOT TO FILTER ON YOUR MOTORCYCLE. Always consider how quickly a gap can close on you, especially like in this example where I'm looking to go down the inside of a long commercial vehicle. Here I show the safest way to filter in this situation, waiting for a long truck to almost come to a stop before I take my opportunity to filter, ensuring the gap couldn't close on me. Things to practice are slow riding, using your rear brake and clutch to even out and control your speed whilst threading your bike between vehicles, and predicting traffic movement to ensure you're in a safe position to avoid lane changers.
