*Please Note: This video is not intended to present a message generalizing Black Mother & Daughter relationships. As Black Women, we understand that Black Mother & Daughter relationships range on a continuum.
The intent of this video is to provide a space for Black Women who may have challenging relationships with their mothers to feel seen and heard as these experiences are often silenced due to the cultural stigmas about not openly talking about this issue.*

For a number of Black Women, Mother's Day is a complicated mix of emotions—grief, resentment, guilt, longing, or even numbness. Whether it’s due to emotional distance, unresolved trauma, unmet expectations, or generational wounds, navigating Mother’s Day when your relationship with your mother is strained can feel isolating.

In this deeply honest LIVE panel conversation, we’re holding sacred space for Black Women whose experiences with their mothers don’t fit the "Hallmark card" version.

Tune in to watch this panel of Black Women as they share their personal truths, reflect on their healing journeys, and offer support to those who are silently struggling during this season. You are not alone—and you are allowed to honor your story.

Whether you’re navigating low contact, no contact, conditional connection, or simply a relationship that never quite felt safe, this space is for you.

This is for the Black Woman who:

Feels out of place or unseen on Mother’s Day

Is still grieving a mother who was never emotionally available

Is unlearning toxic cycles and rewriting her own narrative

Desires permission to feel all her feelings—without shame

Panelists: Dani Ellison, Tisha Curry, Sondra Thigpen, and L.
