Why do so many of our decisions go wrong?

Pirkei Avot teaches: “Hevei mesunim b’din.” Be deliberate in judgment. It’s not just advice for judges in court. It’s for every one of us.

Every day, we assess people. We judge situations. We make decisions that shape our lives and the lives of those around us. But if our judgment is rushed, biased, or flawed, the consequences can be painful, both for ourselves and for others.

In this Torah reflection, Chief Rabbi Dr Warren Goldstein explores how the wisdom of Pirkei Avot helps us pause, judge carefully, and bring clarity and peace into our choices.

Key themes:
– Why decisions go wrong
– Pirkei Avot: Hevei mesunim b’din
– Torah on judgment and bias
– Everyday decision-making and clarity
– Jewish wisdom on happiness and well-being
