Learn how designers use weather to create emotion and tone in their video games. We quickly look at the different way we can use weather to be able to sell different moods for out narrative design. Then we break down a few examples of different games including Call of Duty Black Ops 3 and Uncharted 4 that use weather to appropriately convey emotion and tone in their levels.
We also cover some general applications like sunny could mean a plan is going well, rainy could mean that there has been a setback for the main player and we can use other bizarre weather like acid rain or radiation storms also.
