Checking out the brand new BLIGHTEN demo on Steam, an intense retro survival horror FPS that throws you headfirst into a decaying industrial facility. You start out stranded after your squad gets wiped out, and you have to navigate these dark, claustrophobic hallways with very limited resources.
What makes this indie horror game stand out is the unique visual style—it uses hand-drawn 2D enemy sprites inside a grim, low-poly 3D environment, giving it a heavy 90s shooter vibe. Mechanically, it is pure survival horror. You cannot just run and gun your way through.
