What services do you think should be moved from privatized, to public-owned?
Is capitalism the best model for everything? Should AI be ubiquitous in everything? Is socialism truly bad?
Right now we have a public-ownership model applied to services like schools and fire departments. The current administration is actively dismantling the social structures around education in a push for eventual privatization. Other services and institutions like utilities and prisons have also become more and more privatized.
For some, (private equity) this sounds like a positive move. But it’s absurd. Think about the implications.
In this sketch I explore the absurdity of privatizing institutional government services to a capitalist, profit–driven model.
Public ownership isn’t just better, it’s absolutely necessary for these civic institutions to create a functioning society.
